Long Mfg. Co.

A large number of new tractors were offered following
World War Two. Among them, in 1949, came the Long
Model A — a two-plow outfit weighing 3,300 pounds. The
Model A featured adjustable wheel tread from 56 to 84 inches.
Four forward speeds were available from 2 1/2 to 9 3/4
MPH. Power was derived from a four-cylinder Continental
engine. Timken bearings were used extensively.

In 1948 Long Manufacturing produced its first tractor. Eventually the company stop producing their own tractors and started importing them from UTB. In 1985 Long Manufacturing filed for bankruptcy in 1985 and returned in 1987. Escort Group pucharsed Long Agribusiness in 1988.
